Our vision is to excite youth and families by deepening their understanding of and commitment to watershed, rivers and streams that sustain life for generations to come. Support our work.
Engaging Teens as Mentors
Our mentoring program pairs high school students with upper elementary school students, giving teens the opportunity to learn through teaching, while also modeling responsible stewardship of natural resources for elementary-aged youth. Become a Mentor!

The Environment as Inspiration for Learning
The environment is a compelling context for teaching STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) as it provides teachers with a diverse range of real-world challenges that engage students in meaningful, hands-on opportunities to apply and reinforce concepts across multiple subject areas. From calculating planting area and productivity in the school garden, to designing model wind turbines, to tracking invasive species with GPS technology, environmental projects inspire students to apply STEM as they develop innovative solutions to local issues. Learn more about Environmental Education Week April 15-21st and look forward to joining us for Conserve the Carson River Work Day!
